Mountain Loghome at music festival “Tallinn Music Week”

This spring, our team had the opportunity to participate in the making of timber frame installations “soundWAVES”. The installations were created by the students of the Interior Architecture Department of the Estonian Academy of Arts and architects Sille Pihlak and Siim Tuksam in cooperation with the architecture practice PART. Mountain Loghome’s role was to prepare manufacturing drawings and produce the construction elements.

This is the second time we have had a chance to participate in the creation of an art project of this scale. Last year we helped create the installation “Body Building” by Sille Pihlak and Siim Tuksam for Tallinn Architecture Biennale 2015, placed in front of the Museum of Estonian Architecture.

“soundWAVES” and “Body Building” gave us a chance to use the various manufacturing options of our factory that are not often used for regular house projects. In addition, it has given us an outlet to demonstrate the manufacturing capabilities of today’s wooden house factories.

Tallinn Music Week is one of Europe’s leading city festivals with a carefully crafted line-up of various art forms for a curious mind. It is a celebration of creativity, curiosity, freedom and equality and one of the major meeting points for Eastern, Western and Central European music and creative communities. This year it takes place for the 8th time.
